IN:SITE Park East Corridor Project
Fostering temporary public art in Milwaukee County since the spring of 2006, a Milwaukee based arts group named IN:SITE is working with the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County and private property owners to transform the Park East Corridor. The temporary art project will culminate in 11 installations on sixteen blocks of the corridor.
The City of Milwaukee Arts Board, chaired by Ald. Michael Murphy, initiated this project by voting unanimously to provide over $11,000 for artist stipends. The project invites pedestrians, bikers, people who ride the bus, and drivers to explore the Park East Corridor. Thirteen local artists have come forward with bold, diverse projects. All the art will be in place by August 23, when there will be a week of activities August 23-30.
Play the video at left to view the August 24th press conference about IN:SITE.

The Novel H1N1 (Swine Flu) and MPS
Medical experts are concerned that this type of flu might make a comeback in fall with more severe symptoms. Parents and children should not fear this because there are ways to protect your loved ones.
- When a Novel H1N1 vaccine becomes available; please see that children get the immunization. It is possible that swine flu vaccinations will be provided at some school sites. MPS will provide details when they are available.
- Find out where you could receive food assistance if your child’s school is closed and you have no access to school meals.
